A female condom is a thin sheath with a flexible ring on both the end. It is used by females and it is a barrier contraceptive. The female condom is latex free, so there is no risk of allergy. It is around 79% effective in preventing pregnancy. 2. Male condom

Male condom is a sheath made of latex or plastic (for those allergic to latex) used by the male partner to cover the penis during sex. It protects against pregnancy and STD (Sexually Transmitted Diseases). It works by not letting the semen enter the vagina.  Male condoms are about 82% effective.

3. Birth control sponge

Birth control sponge is a small sponge that contains spermicide. It is inserted into the vagina before the intercourse. 7. Abstinence
