How can I change my Fortnite name on Nintendo Switch?

I can't find any option in the game, didn't sign up for an epic games account, and already tried completely deleting the software and redownloading. Seems strange that I can't change it at all

Playing Fortnite on Nintendo Switch will only be your Epic Games Username, it's not like a Playstation 4 or Xbox One

you have to go to customer service

Go to the epic games website, sign in, click account and in personal details you will be able to change your username. You may have to verify account before changing or it won't work.

My son made his own fortnite account on the switch, and just basically mashed the keypad to make his username. It's not linked to an epic games account. Am I able to change his username now to an actual name?

Yep, just do what was suggested in this thread, namely create an epic account on PC and it should link to your Switch account and then you can change it there
